Connecting PEGMedia to Cablecast

Last Updated:September 30, 2026

If your station runs Cablecast, you can have the content in your PEGMedia download queue flow straight into Cablecast — no manual downloading and importing. You connect your PEGMedia account in Cablecast Cloud Services, then set up an import in Cablecast.

Before you start

  • You'll need a PEGMedia account and content in your download queue — see Downloading a Show from PEGMedia. Community membership isn't required, but community members can download all content for free.

  • You'll need access to Cablecast Cloud Services (app.cablecast.tv) and to your Cablecast system's settings.

1. Connect your PEGMedia account in Cablecast Cloud Services

  1. Sign in to app.cablecast.tv and select PEGMedia in the sidebar.

  2. Click Connect PEGMedia.

  3. Sign in to PEGMedia if prompted. On the Authorization Request screen, review the permissions (Get Download Queue and Modify Download Queue) and click Authorize.

  4. You'll return to Cablecast Cloud Services with a PEGMedia account connected message, and the account will show as Active.

"PEGMedia authorization request from Cablecast Cloud Services, asking to get and modify the download queue, with an Authorize button."
"PEGMedia page in Cablecast Cloud Services showing a PEGMedia account connected message and an active account, with Disconnect and Connect another account buttons."

To connect more than one PEGMedia account, click Connect another account. Connecting the same PEGMedia account again updates the existing connection.

2. Set up the import in Cablecast

Note: It can take a few minutes for a newly connected PEGMedia account to appear in Cablecast. If you don't see it in the PEGMedia account list yet, wait a few minutes and try again.

In Cablecast, go to Settings > Integrations and click + Add PEGMedia import. Then:

  1. Enter a Name for the import.

  2. Choose your PEGMedia account.

  3. Choose a Target location — imported shows are created here.

  4. Choose a Destination file store — downloaded media lands on this playback file store.

  5. Under Field mapping, choose which PEGMedia details go into which Cablecast show fields. Click + Add field to add more. The show Title and CG Title are always set from the PEGMedia episode name.

  6. Click Save. The import shows as Active in the PEGMedia imports list.

Cablecast Integrations settings page with the PEGMedia imports section highlighted, listing one active import with its account, location, and file store.

3. Content flows in automatically

Once connected, Cablecast reads your PEGMedia download queue and pulls in the content you've queued or subscribed to. It creates show records automatically, using the episode name for the Title and CG Title, and filling in any other fields you mapped in Step 2.

From then on, anything you add to your PEGMedia queue (including new episodes from your subscriptions) can be picked up by Cablecast with no manual downloading.

After Cablecast downloads an episode, it's removed from your PEGMedia download queue — on pegmedia.org and in the PEGMedia Desktop app.

Note: Episodes the PEGMedia Desktop app downloads first won't be imported into Cablecast.

Note

Subscriptions are only available to community members at this time.
