Configuring your machine for automatic logon

Applies to

• Windows 7

• This is suggested practice for Cablecast CG330 and CG340 Players running Carousel Player software so they will resume into displaying bulletins when the system is rebooted or powered back on.

• This also applies to CablecastCG media Players for signage uses.

Answer

1. From the Windows Desktop, click Start

2. Type control userpasswords2

3. Press Enter

4. This will open the Advanced User Accounts Control Panel applet

5. In the Users tab, uncheck the box next to Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer

6. Click the Apply button

7. When the Automatically Log On dialog box appears, enter the user name you wish to use for automatic logon

8. Then, enter the password for this user account.

9. Finally, enter the password a second time for confirmation.

10. Click the OK button to close the Automatically Log On dialog box

11. Click the OK button to close the Advanced User Accounts Control Panel applet.

12. Restart the computer to ensure that Auto-Logon is working as expected.
