Putting Cablecast on Autopilot: Automating Ingest, Scheduling, and Cleanup

Published: April 13, 2026

In this practical support and training webinar, we’ll walk through how to dramatically reduce day-to-day scheduling workload in Cablecast by building a fully automated workflow—from content submission to playback. Learn how to use Producer Uploads to securely collect programming directly from churches, government agencies, and recurring producers, while capturing clean metadata and enforcing content policies. We’ll cover when to use auto-approval, how to configure branding and agreements, and how to ensure files are ready for air with minimal staff intervention. From there, we’ll demonstrate how to combine Saved Searches and Auto Schedule rules to automatically play the latest episode in a recurring timeslot—perfect for weekly services, meetings, and series programming. Finally, we’ll show how to use Smart Asset Management (SAM) workflows to clean up old files you no longer need, and how to configure automatic Autopilot sends so your schedule commits reliably every night. By the end of this session, you’ll have a blueprint for putting routine channel operations on autopilot—freeing your staff to focus more time on community engagement, training, and content creation.

Cablecast Basics — From Login To On Air (May 2026)

This new user training webinar, led by Kayla Creamer from Tightrope Media Systems, covers the fundamentals of getting started with Cablecast. The session walks through logging in, navigating the interface, uploading video files, creating show records, scheduling programming, and sending Autopilot to commit the schedule to air. Additional topics include setting up live events, managing scheduling conflicts, recording live programming, and using control rooms for manual override.

Saved Searches In Cablecast — From Simple Filters To Powerful Automation

Matt Greenberg from Cablecast Support walks through saved searches in a 30-minute webinar, covering how to use them to automate four key functions: Autoscheduling content to broadcast channels, filling programming gaps, populating Internet Channel Galleries, and managing OTT app content. The session covers metadata basics — including Show Records with event dates, projects, and categories — then demonstrates building saved searches by project and title filters. From there, Greenberg shows how to apply those searches in Autoschedule Rules, set up PSA filler using the Fill Gaps tool, configure Autopilot sends, and use saved searches in Internet Channels for galleries and pre-roll content. The webinar wraps up with a look at managing custom collections for branded apps through Cablecast Cloud Services. The takeaway: thorough metadata makes every platform feature work better.

Customizing A Cablecast CG Channel

In this webinar, Training Specialist Kayla Creamer walks through the planning and configuration process for rebranding or reskinning an existing Cablecast CG channel template. Whether you're looking to give your channel a fresh look or you're curious about what's involved in building something from scratch, this session covers the key concepts and steps you need to know before you start. Topics covered include common misconceptions about customizing CG channels, including what's actually baked into your seamless background image and why zones aren't as simple to move or resize as they might seem. You'll also learn how to plan your CG channel layout with both HD and standard-def output in mind, how to use the PEG template zone overlay to understand what's already configured, and how to use Canva to design a seamless background image. The session also walks through bringing your design into Cablecast CG, uploading your seamless background, using zone branding to update fonts and colors in bulk, setting your new channel on a player, and going live.
